Whether they have good intentions or not, this zoo needs to be shut down. It is just not healthy for these animals. Defendants say that these animals were rescued from death off the side of the road; how often are tigers and monkeys left on the side of the road? How were these exotic animals even brought into the zoo without full investigation by the government to ensure adequate living conditions for the animals first? Our government is as much to blame for this travesty as the owners, for allowing such a place to exist. I think the owners are trying to do the best they can with no education or money, and this is the tragic result. Guzoo needs to be shut down.Flag

Farm animals are natural to the living conditions on a farm, generally even farm animals have proper habitats/living conditions on a farm. Example: accessible water sources, adequate food, proper shelter. The Guzoo animals have been exposed to water freezing over, photos show snow built up on top of the ice, I think that says it's been frozen for a while. Garbage in pens, oranges just thrown into a pen still in a netted bag. I'm pretty sure no one was meant to eat plastic. My list goes on. Don't be so ignorant, that you think camels, tigers and other exotic animals don't need water or heat in Alberta. Even farmers chop holes in the water for their cattle! Even if some of the animals are exposed to cooler temperatures in their native areas, I highly doubt it's -40 degree Celsius. Just something to think about. Try visiting the Calgary zoo and then visit the Guzoo farm. You tell me the difference In care and maintenance.Flag

I am so saddened that any human being could be so ignorant to the needs of a defenceless animal! These animals are kept in undersized,, filthy cages and several of the animals are alone and they are "social animals" meaning they NEED companions. These animals are not fed adequately and they should not be forced to eat snow instead being provided with drinking water! I would invite anyone that is defending the zoo to take a look at the recent photographs and I am convinced that they would stop supporting such a disgusting place- . I feel very strongly about this cause and I hope that this place will finally be closed down and the owners will be prosecuted! and put in jail!!! Please keep us informed on how we can help to shut this place down!Flag
