Name: Nicholas Gerard Febrizio on Nov 20, 2010Comments: THE CRIMINAL ACT OF DUMPING RAW SEWAGE INTO REYNOLDS CHANNEL IS GOING ON RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES. The dumping must stop immediately and the responsible parties should be held accountable. PLEASE SEPARATE POLITICS FROM THIS CRIMINAL ACT AND THE RISK OF LONG-TERM ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER. Until this plant is properly repaired, the Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant should be completely responsible for proper, legal, environmentally compliant methods of shipping the waste out of our area. THEY MUST IMMEDIATELY STOP DUMPING RAW SEWAGE INTO REYNOLDS CHANNEL! THIS IS CRIMINAL!!! I'm totally shocked that this has become a political issue. While political posturing may come in to play regarding the method of repair, costs and accountability, the issue of criminal negligence and the passive approach that our political associates have taken regarding continued dumping is unacceptable. STOP THE CRIMINAL DUMPING NOW- FIGURE OUT EVERYTHING ELSE THROUGH TYPICAL POLITICAL CHANNELS.Flag

Name: Nicholas Febrizio on Nov 20, 2010Comments: The failure of our elected officials to act on this issue is unconscionable. They can not continue to pretend this problem does not exist. Their failure to act amounts to just as much criminality as the plant operators who open the valves to discharge the sewage. Nothing short of stopping the discharge immediately is acceptable. Steps must finally be taken to bring the plant into full compliance with current operating standards.Flag

Name: Steve Gruber on Nov 20, 2010Comments: My family and I swim, fish, sail and eat on Reynolds Channel regularly. Let alone the hundreds of thousands of people who bath in our beachs and support the cities economic strength. This is not just about the water but the survival of Long Beach and the surronding Cites and towns. What will happen when people don't come here anymore? And what about our health? Our children?Flag

Name: Claudia Borecky on Nov 20, 2010Comments: Bay Park is a county-owned facility, run by the county. Mangano is our county executive. The buck stops with Mangano. Dumping sewage in our waterways is ILLEGAL! Mangano must stop this environmental CRIME immediately! We must hold those accountable for this crime or it won't stop. As requested by Leg. Dave Denenberg, Presiding Officer Peter Schmitt must hold legislative hearings and conduct a full investigation in this matter so that we learn the truth!! They cannot be allowed to continue to put our health at risk. We are not going to go away! They are poisoning our fish and marine life and the health of all those who enjoy our waterways are at risk! Mangano must stop the sludge NOW or we may become the next Love Canal.Flag
