Comments: This Government is set on penalizing Britain and its residents in a a farcical crusade against global warming when the UK only contributes 2% of global pollution. I believe their policy amounts to shooting Britain in the foot.

Comments: If the caravan is taxed, our holidays will end. We are pensioners and can only just afford to run the car and take a cheap holiday.

Comments: Caravaners are more enviomentally friendly than most holiday makers. Before becoming a caravanner we would take 2 foreign holidays a year making our carbon footprint much higher than now. We're already being punished for having a big car to tow with, which we only use for the odd weekend away.

Comments: I already pay 40% tax on my earning isn't that enough. I take my caravan away every 2-3 weeks for a long weekend this proposed stealth taxation would force me and my family to jump on a plane more often, so how much CO2 emmissions would that cause This is very wrong and would force alot of Caravanners off the roads and hit our leasure industry too hard. I say no to this scheme completely and will not pay this proposed stealth tax at all.

Comments: what are they going to tax next i know the goverment can afford trips abroad every 5 mins but some of us couldnt have a hliday without our trusty caravan. i have had to buy a 4 wheel drive to tow it and they have upped the tax to £400 on that if they put tax on caravan i might as well give up and sell the lot

Comments: This cannot happen, especially given that the whole carbon issue is just one big scam tax scam to fill the public sector pensions hole. I refer you to the 'Great Global Warming Swindle' documentry that was on Channel 4 the in early March. This government is a joke.

Comments: Does the government just want to ban people enjoying themselves. Pits and shipyards are no more, most manufacturing is now or moving to China, holidays abroad now face increasing tax. Holidaying in this country, of which caravaning is a major part, would face a major cut back if this is taxed.Does the government not realise that many local businesses would suffer as well as the many employed in the caravan industry. Why not tax fuel more instead.(in case other countries catch up with our already massive fuel tax!). Another Idea. Tax the sunshine. IT WILL BE THE SUN WHICH CAUSES GLOBAL WARMING AND MAKE MANKIND EXTINCT !
