| 3701 | Frances Petrowski | Jack Black is my daughter's (17 year old with down syndrome) FAVOURITE actor -. so I am extremely disappointed in his taking part in this movie.
What I want to know is if Mr. Stiller had a child with a disability - would things be different? |
| 3702 | Noelle Deschamps | Mother to an almost 2 year old daughter with Down syndrome, despises the use of 'that word'. People with disabilities have come a long way & deserve recognition not humor at their expense to make money. I find that disgusting & apalling. |

| 3706 | Mary K | Once again, our culture attacks the most helpless and vulnerable of our society. |
| 3707 | Linda Bonner | I am a mother of a wonderful child that happens to have Down Syndrome. He loves movies and his all time favorite actor is Jack Black in School of Rock and Nacho Lebra. I do believe that part of the use of hurtful words is due to ignorance of not having their lives touched by these very special people. Ignorance does not excuse this behavior though. I would also expect more from Ben Stiller though having worked with persons with different abilities in the past. I will check to see movies with an apology but they will probably not be my first choice in a movie to see. |

| 3719 | carolyn frels | My grandson has down syndrome. He is such a joy in all our lives. Anything done or said that hurts him in any way, hurts and angers me.. |
| 3720 | janet torreso | life with disabilities is hard enough...your heartless stupidity only makes it harder. |
| 3721 | Anonymous | To Ben Stiller etc:
I walked out of the film after an hour or so as the heavy slurring of a person with disabilities was too much to take. I pose the questions: Why with all your money and a bureacracy such as Dreamworks, would you do something so tasteless, insulting and pejorative? Why would you if y ou are a parent (Stiller and Downey Jr are) and therefore a role model, have your own children subject to this abusive ranting? What kind of role models are you? FInally in an era when many of us fought for people with disabilites to have an equal opportunity in life, would you want to set back the clock? I think the cast of the film needs some professional development or education in the matter of people with disabilites. All around this was a distasteful, crude and mostly thoughtless movie. That it is making any money is a sad statement on society. |
| 3722 | Rhonda Coombes | Gentlemen,
I have been disappointed for a long time with the way Hollywood has chosen to treat different groups of people with no respect. Making fun of people because of their disabilities or religious beliefs is disgusting.
I am sorry that actors with your talent have chosen to stoop to the level of making fun of those that are mentally as sharp as you seem to think you are.

| 3733 | Luke Grimes | I am (was) a huge fan of these actors and their movies. I was going to see this movie before I found out what it was really about. I hope they will step up, and I can again watch their movies and enjoy their work but for now I must abstain.
I hope that they can understand that what they say can be hurtful and harmful to people and society. I hope that they have the moral compass to steer them in the right direction. |

| 3735 | Joel Reeves | I just think it is completely disrespectful. |
| 3736 | Deborah Conklin | You could be using the power of Hollywood for good instead of spreading hate and discrimination. Shame on you. Some day I hope you feel the same anguish you have cause so many people in this country to feel because of this movie. Grow up. I will never patronize anything of yours or the 3 leading actors works again. |

| 3738 | Bill Welles | I can understand the desire of humorists to find something funny in characterizations of people with afflictions. In truth, there is nothing funny about it! In the last couple of years I had the wonderful opportunity to meet a precious and beautiful little girl that was so blessed. There is no one sweeter than her! ... and it's not her fault! This is written by someone who has spent his entire life with extreme difficulty in developing social skills. Recently it has been discovered that I grew up with undiagnosed autism. |

| 3742 | Bonnie Ross | Our parent support group for Down syndrome formed a walking club for our kids and young adults. They are joined by marathon runners who walk with our kids to advise them and encourage their efforts. They walked a mile every Monday evening this summer and had a little get together afterward in the parking lot of our group's office. They did karaoke and had snacks of water and fruit. The night of their last walk, as they were enjoying the get-together, a car drove by the parking lot, and people yelled out of the car something about "You retards need to get out of the parking lot". (Our kids were not in the way or blocking any parking spaces.) This happened after the movie Tropic Thunder came out. I was afraid that something like this would occur as a result of the movie. My 14 year old daughter was there, and since she has been born we had never experienced any open hostility like this before. I wonder if these people thought it was okay to harass our children after the movie came out. |

| 3749 | Adriana Smith | Dear Mr. Stiller,
After many a restless night and many prayers for you and your family. I agree with our right to freedom of speech. A fundamental right so important to our way of life in this great country these United States of America. I believe in artistic expression and the ability ,your ability Sir, to make people laugh amazing. But it is clear, money is your god and your slander your own disgrace.
It was a very sad day when my husband and I had to explain to our family Marc 19, Gigi 17, and Christian14 that a movie such as yours was out there in this day and age. When we hear the "R " word it makes us all very sad Gigi was born with Down Syndrome and yes people make fun of her and call her the "R" word . As a mother I can only imagine what else they say and do to her when she is not within my eye sight.
It effects our whole family and we must follow Gigi's example of forgiveness.
It is not artist expression nor is it your right or anyones to make fun of people whom cannot or wont defend themselves.
I know you have children and someday you may be blessed with grandchildren . You could have a grandchild with special needs. What will you say to them when they ask you 'Why grandpa , why are you making fun of me and my friends?' Why?.
That is what my daughter asked me , Why mom?
And now I pose this question to you and your family ,
WHY?
