Stop 7-Eleven in Woodstock

56 Signatures Goal: 100

We, the undersigned residents and homeowners, of the Woodstock area; do hereby object to the planned inclusion of a 7-11 Convenience store on the intersection of 52nd and Woodstock. The convenience needs of the community are well met through three, full service, 24hr. convenience stores, each within a walking distance in the West, East, and North directions, as well as the ASAP Mini Mart, the Shell Mart, and the Flavel Street Market, all within one mile to the South. The community is further served by a 24hr. Safeway Supermarket located within six blocks of the proposed site. The inclusion of a convenience store is not commensurate with the development of the neighborhood as safe, family friendly, and a destination location. Woodstock residents have fought to curtail crime, and create an invested and proactive community. Convenience stores are known attractors to crime, drug use, loitering, and transients. The inclusion of this store will drive down property values, attract an unwanted criminal element, and is neither necessary, nor wanted in the community.
