The Forsyth County Board of Education has officially decided to restore traditional grading methods and halt the expansion of the current system. This outcome reflects the commitment of everyone who advocated for a clearer standard of academic achievement. I encourage you to remain vigilant as the district transitions back to …
We, the undersigned parents feel that Forsyth County Schools are headed in the wrong direction with the new 123 grading system. We feel that this is not appropriate for 4th grade and higher, and the lack of a grade for exceeding standards is unacceptable. We appreciate the value of traditional grading and want to see its use as the primary means in our county. By signing below you are asking the Forsyth County Board of Education to stop any more expansions of the system, adopt a plan to recognize excellence in all grading, and consider restricting the new grading to K-1 or K-2.
The level of engagement regarding our concerns about the current grading policy has grown significantly. This collective response confirms that many families prioritize academic transparency and the recognition of student excellence.

My son is so discouraged because he works hard and just gets a 2. There is no incentive for kids to do their best anymore. Bring back real grades.

Kids need to know how they stack up. This participation trophy style grading helps nobody.

TOTAL CONFUSION. Nobody likes this and the teachers hate it too. Listen to the parents for once.

Ridiculous. My daughter is an A student and now she gets no recognition for the extra effort. Fix this.

This system is a joke. How are we supposed to know if our kids are actually learning anything? Stop making things complicated just to be trendy.

Keep it for the little ones but 4th grade is way too old for this nonsense. They need to learn how to earn a grade.
