Set on top of Cleveland's magnificent Heritage Coast, Windy Hill Farm, it's surrounding fields and public rights of way have provided a haven for local wildlife and a delight for many thousands of visitors of all kinds including ramblers, dog walkers, bird spotters etc. over generations. Under current development plans it is proposed that 5 hectares of this wonderful natural preserve will be turned into 200 residential homes. Not only will this seriously threaten the local fauna at this site, in particular endangered bird species such as breeding lapwing, skylark and grey partridge, but it will also significantly and permanently degrade the public enjoyment of the natural heritage of our county.
