Recently, satellite television provider DirecTV announced it may drop channels from Viacom such as MTV, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central. Viacom wants $1 billion more (30% more than before) for the same channels. They are also airing adverts that make DirecTV appear as they do not want to continue airing the channels. The Viacom channels affected are some of the most watched cable networks.
