Comments: Good idea. I've never liked the term 'Ex' used in conjunction with my Military status. Perhaps the Americans have got it right with 'Veteran' Some of you may know that I live in rural France where I was recently invited to join the L'Association des Anciens Combattants. I suppose loosely translated it means 'Old Soldiers' They are all fiercely proud of their status. I certainly consider myself to be an Old Soldier rather than 'Ex' Remember, Old Soldiers never die, they only smell that way.

Comments: this ex bit is a bit below the belt i know there is people out there would love to get rid of us ,we are the duke of edinbrough royal regiment and our history must be retained for younger people to learn what this great regiment stands for and what people did to make it the best if your proud of what you are then say it i am a d.e.r.r. or a famers boy not a ex this or that ,there has been to many regiments gone that way by saying i was a ex you are a farmers boy the day you join the regiment till you leave this world not a ex,so get rid of the ex bit and be proud of being a duke

Comments: I think that we as in the original surviving members of the Berkshires should never be addressed as Ex members, it is an insult to the memory of the men who were the first to join and fight for queen and country, we can never be known as Ex anything because as long as there will be colors, old or otherwise, one cannot call them Ex, and as such still exist, as all who are still living Exist,
