The Alameda Sun is not honoring the requests of Alamedans who do not wish to receive the paper at their home.

The ubiquitous, unwanted paper delivery on the island highlights which residences are currently unoccupied, which makes these home a more likely target for theft and vandalism.

Additionally, Alamedans take environmental conservation and protection very seriously and the delivery of the printed paper to unwanted recipients directly opposes these values.

Lastly, it is a nuisance to the residents who do not wish to receive the paper and the Alameda Sun is obligated to honor the requests of those who are responsible for the maintenance of private or public property.

The Alameda Sun should deliver the paper to addresses that have a current, paid subscription the the newspaper and honor the requests of those who do not wish to receive the paper on their property.

Alameda has an ordinance on littering that applies to businesses who deposit unwanted materials on private property.
