To many letters and parcels are being lost or stolen. I myself have experienced this 4 times in the last 6 months (2 cards and 2 parcels). The Royal Mail are supposed to be a well trusted company since 1516 however it just seems to be a company that can be trusted to open birthday cards and parcels to see if there is anything of value to be stolen. With the rise of prices in the Royal Mail going up by nearly 3 times over the last 10 years you would think they can afford to increase their security of their sorting offices yet still 400,000 letters go missing a week. I believe an increase of security in the Sorting offices will help to greatly reduce them numbers. All employees pockets should be empty on going into the place of work and checked on leaving the place of work. Employees should be educated on how bad the situation is at the sorting offices they work at. Employees who are caught should be sued and fired instead of the pointless warnings to which many of them are currently receiving. Stronger background checks on new employees. I'm sure if these conditions are met there will be an increase of mail getting delivered successfully and customers would be more pleased with the Royal mail and would be more inclined to use it then what they currently are.
