A Call of Action is needed by You! Sign and submit the petition calling on the WV House of Delegates to immediately stop the spending on the Community Participation Project Program known as CPP.Each year, every House of Delegates member will make requests of $50,000 to $80,000 dollars and sometimes more of the taxpayer’s hard earned money to spend in their districts as they see fit.

Many working WV families today are deeply worried about the debt that is increasing in WV. This concern stems from the belief as stated in a letter on December 20, 2013 to all the members of the House of Delegates from the Speaker of the House, and the Chair of the House Finance Committee… “As you may know the state is facing significant economic challenges in the current budget year with more projected for several years to come.”

As our debt and spending problems in WV continues to grow many West Virginian’s feel their dream is slipping away and, with it, the chance to give their children and grandchildren a shot at an even better life!

Over the years, we have seen our state budget increase. We’ve been told that more government spending was necessary to fix this financial crisis. But it has not! Instead, it has left us with over $23 Billion in state debt and over 100,000 hard working West Virginian’s out of work!

In your same letter to the members of the House of Delegates you mention… “As has always been the case, each member has the right, if not the responsibility, to make funding recommendations to us or directly to the Governor for any project in his or her district.”Continuing on the same path is not an option!

We're all frustrated by this economic crisis. It's going to take all us, working together, to find a way out of this mess. Let's start by stopping the spending of CPP money for one year.We can restore it later down the road if our financial crisis improves, but doing so will require us to make sacrifices and take bold action! Our citizens continue to make sacrifices every day, and now it’s our turnto help working WV families!
