Certain breeds of dog have fast become media fodder, they have been exploited time and time again to the point where people are either scared of them or use their stereotype to up their own status. The most famous being the Pit Bull. In the UK it became illegal to own a Pit Bull or even a Pit-Cross, by 2006 nearly 200 of these dogs were seized and culled. Now the government and the media are targeting Staffies, Rottweilers, Doberman etc. I agree that yes these specific dogs were bred to guard and protect, that does not however make them "dangerous". Any dog has the potential to be aggressive, big OR small, it is up to the owner to teach their dog right from wrong, just like you would (hopefully) teach your child. The only real danger here is the owner, there are far too many irresponsible owners out there and of course the media who LOVE a good "evil dog" story, this needs to end now!
