Florida’s important Tax Credit Scholarship is under attack by several organizations that oppose educational choice, including the Florida Education Association (the state’s largest teacher union), the Florida School Boards Association, the Florida PTA, the Florida Association of School Administrators, the Florida NAACP and the League of Women Voters of Florida.

These groups are suing to eliminate the Tax Credit Scholarship, which has done so much good for so many children.

These groups don’t seem to care that the scholarship has been around for 13 years and there are 68,000 students who would be yanked out of their scholarship schools, where things are going well.

They seem more concerned about putting these children back in the public school system than about whether these children are actually learning. They think this program takes money from them, but they overlook the fact that it is not a government-funded program. Tax-credit scholarship programs allow businesses to claim tax credits for donations made to state-approved organizations, which then provide money for eligible students to use toward tuition at private schools.

The scholarship program is helping some of the poorest children in our state, and their parents deserve to have an option. If you qualify, you should have the choice to send your child to a school of your choice through a scholarship funded by donations.

Don't let these special-interest groups take this scholarship away from our children!!

Please sign the petition, and share it with others. Be a voice for these kids!!

ive been reading through the stories people are posting and it really hits home how many kids depend on these scholarships to get a good education. its frustrating to see these groups pushing for a lawsuit that would pull the rug out from under so many families who finally found a school that works for them.

Step Up has helped me place and keep my children in a private school setting. Two of the three have some issues that would slip through the cracks in a public setting. The smaller class size and individual attention help with this. Thank you so much.

This is an excellent program that rightfully gives parents a choice regarding their child's education. Moreover, it actully saves the State of Florida money by educating each Step Up student at about half the average cost of Florida public schools.

I'm a single mother who uses the scholarship to help me to help benefit my daughter to get a better education. Better than what I've got. This scholarship helps a lot ,a lot ,a lot. Words can't explain how much this scholarship has helped my family.

I'm appalled that the school board would even bother because they have complained in the past of 'Overcrowding' in their schools and not being compensated enough. ..how do we win here???!! It seems to me there's a hidden agenda...keeping their JOBS!!

I've seen how this program changes lives. It should not be seen as an affront to public schooling, rather part of the rainbow of educational opportunities all kids should have access to, along with Charters, Magnets, and traditional public schools.

I am able to go to my dream school because and only because of this program, which also gives other children that werent born with wealth to go to a school that teaches the faith they believe in.
