We the undersigned ask that the Florham Park Planning Board reject the request by Florham Park Helipad LLC for approval of a helipad to be built on the property designated as Block 1401, Lot 1, as an accessory to the Commercial Athletic Training Facility currently operated by the NY Jets on an adjacent lot (Block 1401, Lot 1.01).
The helipad will add unnecessary noise pollution to the adjacent neighborhoods in Madison and Florham Park and create a safety hazard for the residents as well as the children who use the Madison Recreation Complex and Madison High School, both of which are .5 miles from the location.
Given that there is a perfectly adequate helipad facility at Morristown Municipal Airport, which is approximately 1 mile away, this request is unwarranted and should be rejected.

Mark Miller, United States1 year ago Comments: The Morristown airport is close enough for the Jets to get to. Noise pollution isn't helpful to the environment nearby. The residents of Chesire house are disabled and cannot often leave their residence and would have to endure constant noise from helicopters. Am only visiting family nearby, though from my perspective it seems wasteful and oblivious to construct a helicopter pad on the Jets property when the airport is so close. Why not a nature reserve for the football players to relax in? There aren't many outdoor parks nearby, only a few groves of trees here and there. We could use more oxygen from trees and less noise from helicopters.
