These fish destroyers cannot be given the go-ahead on the Faughan,I've seen first hand what they can do to smolts on the river mourne,it would be madness.Hopefully sense prevails. S Deeney
IF our political parties allow this to go ahead and put money before nature Just look at the river mourn hydro thousands off smolts killed every year Salmon killed at the back off the mill . For goodness sake wise up and do something right for this country
N.Ireland's rivers have suffered enough through industrial and agricultural pollution - we don't need to further damage our waterways with hydros.
The planning for these hydros should not be granted,the consequences could be devastating for the rivers Atlantic salmon.This river is still in danger from the illegal landfill site on the Mubouy Rd and these hydros are the last thing it needs.
This cannot happen as an angler who fishes for salmon this would greatly effect future salmon runs to the Faughan.Im totally against it .
Hydo dams and power generation have decimated the Lower Shannon don't let history repeat itself on your local river.

The HydroNI habitat assessment is flawed. Their report needs to be scrutinised and the planning authority should withhold planning.
