A new 481 seat High School is being planned for 30-48 Linden Place. This is where the Board of Education building now stands. The Mitchell-Linden Civic Association has already notified our legislators that this location is absolutely unacceptable for the following reasons: Directly across the street is a car wash, and two hotels. It is adjacent to the Whitestone Bowling Alley and only ½ block from an early child hood school. Within one to three blocks are two Nursery schools, two Senior Centers, and P.S. 214. This is the most congested and grid locked location in our entire community. It is also the pathway to the Pathmark Shopping Center.

The Board of Education is finally feeling the heat because our neighborhood refuses to be bulldozed by their reckless planning. This momentum proves that Flushing will not sit back while they turn our gridlocked streets into a danger zone for our children.

If this school is opened, it will just be horrible. The pollution and awful smell in the area will only get worse. It is also not safe, at all. Flushing is too over-populated. I wish people would stop trying to turn Flushing into another Manhattan.

This neighborhood has lost its quality of life. It takes me 20minutes to drive from my garage on 31st Road to Linden Place every morning. It's only 2 blocks.

There is too much traffic there, the road gets backed up. There is an elementary school across the street & 2 nursery schools down the block & a senior center. This is the wrong place to put a high school.

its déjà vu again. It is too congested with traffic and too close to place hs students can cut school for. It is also too close to elementary schools Let them put the hs where the ny times building is for sale. It's less congested with traffic on that side of the van wyck.

Linden Place is the wrong location for a school. It is already overly congested, with a Public School, a Senior Day Care, 2or 3 pre K /nursery schools, a shopping center, car wash, etc. There are two "hotels" being built there now, adjacent to the car wash, directly across from the proposed school site. The neighborhood is overly congested, with too many new buildings, cars, buses, school buses, senior vans, and people. Linden place is a two lane street, not large enough to support the extra congestion that this HS would bring. Have an open meeting, no back door deals, and let the community truly have a voice in this.

The Mitchell Linden Civic Association strongly opposes a school in this location. The area already has two schools, two senior centers, a large shopping center and is grossly congested with traffic, and does not have adequate safety design as it is. Two hotels of unknown character are currently in the final stages of development and set to open across the street from the proposed school. This is good for neither the community nor the students of New York City.

We have to stop this insanity. Too congested and too many hangout spots for delinquents in the area.
