Many kill shelters are in the practice of euthanizing unwanted domestic animals in cruel ways that are agonizing for their victims. Gassing is a quick and cheap way to do away with these innocent dogs and cats. They are put in bins, several at a time and the gas is turned on. Anyone who has seen evidence of this knows how horrifying and heartbreaking this cruelty is. The ongoing agonizing cries are proof that it is a long, anguishing and painful end.
