The City of Santa Barbara is proposing a Historic District of 27 properties mainly along the 600 and 700 blocks of De La Vina. This is primarily multi family zoning with very few single family homes. Most of these properties are beyond their economic life and need to be replaced, not restored. They were purchased as investment properties with the idea of producing income, not as a National, State or City treasure. They have been well worn by years of tenant occupation. The organizers do not want you to vote on this designation and you will have very little say in what you may do with your property if this is adopted. Our purpose with this petition is to say NO to this idea. Please sign if you feel this is would not benefit you.
