We the undersigned wish to petition the Philippine media to STOP promoting and publicizing the outrageous personal lives of people in the media. The media is a powerful tool that can be used to educate and raise the consciousness of a people. USE IT FOR THESE ENDS. The Philippines faces larger problems such as: .:: High unemployment rates, .:: Lack of access to proper health care facilities for people living in remote areas, .:: Poverty, .:: The Sabah issue, to name a few. STOP PROMOTING IGNORANCE AND THE LACK OF MORAL VALUES BY DISCUSSING THE DIRTY LAUNDRY OF SHOW BUSINESS PERSONALITIES ON THE AIR. WE THE UNDERSIGNED WANT TO STOP HEARING ABOUT KRIS AQUINO, HEART EVANGELISTA, AND ANY OTHER ENTERTAINER'S PERSONAL LIVES. Show more respect for the Filipino and focus on content that lifts up and enlightens the country. Think harder, work harder, come up with entertainment that doubles as education!!! We are a talented people -- we continually CLAIM to be a talented people -- so WALK THE TALK! Be part of the power that changes the Philippines. A change that will reflect the ideals we wish to see for future generations.
