Comments: I strongly urge Government to not continue with this Act, citizens cannot allow Government to continue disarming us whilst armed and extremely dangerous criminals are running wild. Government is incapable of stopping the slaughter of innocent civilians - we demand that our right to defend ourselves be honored.Flag -

Name: Andre Fredrik Bothma on Feb 1, 2013Comments: Police should seak assistance from Ministry of Justice for harsher sentences on violent offenders. Criminals use all types of illegal weapons with no fear of consequences. I am a knife collector and am horrified by the proposed Dangerous Weapons Bill. I am also an active member of the Community Policing Forum and have always been a law abiding citizen. If the DWB is implemented, my right to carry a knife, pepper spray and a baton is technically infringed, and this would also place me on the wrong side of the law. At this stage we as a nation are LOSING the battle against crime. More effort should go into simpler (read less) legislation to putting more weapons into the hands of law abiding citizens.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 2, 2013Comments: absolutely agree. The police in particular are corrupt and bend the rules. It would open another avenue to be used by them for extortion of which many in their ranks are already guilty. The application by the Police Minister to stop investigations into police inactivity in Kyalitcha tells me he doesn't want the truth to be told. The lawless will rule here. The law abiding will be exterminated.Flag

Name: Bob Nixon on Feb 4, 2013Comments: This Bill appears innocent when viewing the title, however the effect it will have on the law-abiding public to enable them to protect themselves and their families is immense. I ask that due to the ineffectiveness of the SAPS that this Bill is rejected until ALL public feel safe in our societyFlag
