Name: Kieron Beacham on Feb 23, 2013Comments: I object to Site 15 and 16 - it is important we preserve our green belt The provision of a travellers site here is still inappropriate development and is not one which meets any of the criteria. The site should be located on brownfield land in an urban area as policy requires and the Green Belt should be protected in line with National Policy. Both sites are set within open countryside and are currently in use as farmland. Site 15 is subject to flooding and not in receipt of utilities and an area of natural beauty - it is very close to A6 as is 15 which would be a noisy environment for the travelling community childrenFlag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 25, 2013Comments: I fail to understand why preferential treatment is given to this group, surely either your a traveller or you are not and if your not then you should integrate into the rest of society like everybody else has to. I wholly disagree on many levels with regard to the proposals, but I am unable to express my very valid opinion because Beds CC will ignore anything other than on grounds of planning.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 1, 2013Comments: This is a disgrace and should not be allowed to proceed any further. Why two sites in Barton?? We already have one near the Grove pub. What about the impact on Barton, drop in house prices? Well done Central Beds....lets destroy another beautiful village and the surrounding ones such as Sharpenhoe and Streatley in the process!Flag

Name: Graeme Smith on Mar 1, 2013Comments: This is a ludicrous idea and must be stopped now. Aside from the fact its within green belt land and will be a massive blot on a beautiful landscape. We in Barton do not have the infrastructure to cope a massive influx of travellers.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 7, 2013Comments: Would someone please explain to me why, if these people are called travellers, do they need permanent sites. We do not want our village, green belt and wild life destroyed by these sites and its about time that Central Beds listened to its residentsFlag

Name: Lesley & Joe McCaffrey on Mar 12, 2013Comments: If Nadine Dorries cares anything at all about her consitutency she will not let this happen. We live in Silsoe which is being ruined by an ugly housing estate which has had no forethought and the houses are not even selling. Our property prices have fallen and crime, which was never heard of in our village, has increased. Please please do not let this go ahead - property prices, jobs, businesses in Barton, Silsoe, Pulloxhill, Higham Gobian and all surrounding villages will suffer greatlyFlag

Using taxpayers' money to provide extra accommodation and facilities for a wealthy group of people who already have homes, (mainly in Ireland) constitutes a gross misuse of public funds.Flag
