Name: Marian Chalkley on Feb 9, 2013Comments: I object to the provision of gypsy/traveler sites in Barton as there is no proposed increase of doctors facilities or other amenities to cope with the increase of population. I do not agree to the use of Green Belt land for the proposed sites. The village bank/post office facility would also be put under great pressure.Flag

Name: Denis Garside on Feb 10, 2013Comments: If this site is approved in Barton-le-Clay there is a greater chance for future expansion, the village does not have the infrastructure to accommodate a traveller’s site. The doctor’s surgery is already over committed, we have no local police presence and where the proposed sites are going to be there would certainly be a road safety issue. There are also concerns that a traveller’s site would have an effect on house prices and council taxFlag

Name: Sheila Exall on Feb 12, 2013Comments: At a Central Beds Council Meeting last year when residents of Barton Le Clay objected to the proposal to build on green belt land, it was stated quite categorically that there would be NO building on green belt land, this not being reviewed until 2031. I expect the Council to honour their committments, so why do we have 2 proposed sites in Barton Le Clay? There will be even more opposition to these proposals from Barton Le Clay, especially when current residents are having trouble getting a school place for their children, but gypsy/travellers children will have automatic right. There is something very wrong with this.Flag

Name: John And Gill Blindell on Feb 12, 2013Comments: We already have one such site in the area and the Greenbelt should be preserved not reduced, we owe this to future generations. In addition to have such a site visible on entering the village would create rather an eyesore, and possibly open the floodgate for future expansion.Flag

Name: Mark Palmer on Feb 14, 2013Comments: Neither of these sites are suitable - this is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the local schools/infrastructure is not able to withstand these proposals as well as those in larger urban populations that have had years to adapt to meet these needs. A small rural community is not the place to situate a development of this nature which will make a disproportionate impact on the community, services and environment.Flag

Name: Mr R Newman on Feb 20, 2013Comments: I strongly object to another 2 gypsy sites. Three sites in Barton would be too much and will affect the whole village unnecessary. Pressure would be put doctors, schools, police, house prices more than likely fall and community charges increased to pay for the sites. It also seems that CBC is going against Government policy by suggesting the use of Green Belt land. There are no "Exeptional Circumstances" to warrent changes to the Green Belt boundaries. Keep the village as it is.Flag
