The dog park proposal is officially dead and I honestly still feel like I might wake up from a dream because the city finally listened to our neighborhood. It was such a long fight against that awful Cornerstone plan and I am just so glad we kept the golf course …

Thank you for voicing your opinion to protect the Buena Vista neighborhood! Our petition is now closed.

If you are a resident of West Hartford, please sign this petition to stop the proposed dog park behind Cornerstone Aquatics Center and abutting Buena Vista Golf Course. The West Hartford Dog Park Coalition will be requesting a special use permit to build this dog park. Please show your support to send the message that West Hartford does not have the acreage or neighborhood support to construct a dog park behind Cornerstone for the following reasons:

· Residential neighborhoods surround the property

· Rejected by every other proposed location in West Hartford

· Increased traffic and parking on Cornerstone Drive

· Proximity to the golf course, swimming, tennis, and public gardens

· Noise impact on residents, golfers, and swimmers

· Loss of West Hartford’s scarce, open green space

· No enforcement of dog park usage rules

· No guarantee that the volunteer group will remain in existence to support the on-going maintenance costs.

Signing this petition is free! If you are prompted for a donation to support the ipetitions website, please feel free to click through the request.

I really thought this might just be a local whisper but the way this has taken off is wild and I am still trying to process it. It feels like people actually care about our green space after all which is just huge and honestly keeps me going when I start stressing about the traffic and the noise impacts.

been living here 20 years and its always been peaceful. keep the dogs at home or go to a real park far away from houses.

This is totally the wrong place for this. Why ruin a quiet neighborhood area for a dog park nobody really asked for?

Cornerstone drive is already a mess with the pool traffic. We dont need more cars parked on the street.

NO WAY. The noise will be constant and the green space is for everyone not just people with dogs.

Ridiculous idea. It was turned down everywhere else for a reason!

our property values are bad enough without constant barking right in the backyard. leave it alone.
