Name: Marty Davidson on Feb 7, 2013Comments: TCI has NOT been a good neighbor and had put our firefighters lives in danger by hiding the fact that sodium was on the premises. And brought another company into their building without notifying any of the Town Boards. They never put fire suppression systems in the building either which was a major violation. Don't let them re-build in Columbia County, EVER AGAIN!!!Flag

Name: John Friedman on Feb 7, 2013Comments: TCI should not be permitted to rebuild unless and until each and every safeguard is in place to protect the people, livestock and environment of the Town of Ghent, Columbia County and the surrounding area. They've lied and misled the public in the past -- there is no goodwill here.Flag

Name: Lisa M Ross on Feb 7, 2013Comments: This company has lost all credibility. Just their disregard for responding firefighters--that alone--should preclude a rebuild! Their history of evasion and shady dealings (whether as TCI or their "contract company" PSS) has made a rebuild in our community unthinkable. Vote NO!Flag

Name: Margaret Davidson on Feb 7, 2013Comments: The business that TCI plans to operate has no place in the small, agricultural community of Ghent. They have operated illegally in the past, and seem to accept no responsibility for their tenants' operations. They should be denied a permit to rebuild.Flag

Name: Manda Weintraub on Feb 7, 2013Comments: Toxic PCB recycling plants such as TCI have no place anywhere in the Hudson Valley. Columbia County and it's neighbors in Ulster, Greene and Dutchess rely on tourism and farming to keep our economy, our communities and our environment healthy now and in the years to come. I might mention that I purchased a home in Saugerties last summer, rather than in Ghent, due in part to the presence of TCI. I cannot imagine my husband and I are the only people who, given a choice, do not want to live near a toxic recycling plant that is allowed to operate despite ignoring local building & safety codes and endangering the surrounding members of the community and their property.Flag

Name: Chris Bishop on Feb 7, 2013Comments: TCI thinks they're above the laws of our town, evident by Brian Hemlock's answers to the Planning Board's questions last night. As a resident of Ghent I would prefer not to have TCI operating in Ghent in the future. They haven't been a trustworthy business and are putting the health of local residents at risk.Flag

Name: Sam Pratt on Feb 7, 2013Comments: It is time for The Town of Ghent to get serious about enforcing its zoning code and the laws on its books. Otherwise, we have anarchy. Note: This is a Countywide issue, because the TCI fire resulted in a Countywide emergency, with many people downwind having to shut their windows and stay indoors.Flag
