Comments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Gjxf8RjhKXI The video above shows how much the courts have slowed down along the years. I hope this petition restores the variety that has traditionally made the slams unique

Comments: Fast grass, slow clay, one slow hard court and one fast one(US open) should be the ideal scenario

Comments: Tennis courts should be different - that's the beauty of the game. Wimbledon must be played on fast grass and hard courts must be fast too. Different conditions make the tennis game more unpreditable. 6 hours long matches kill players health and are too long to watch...

Comments: Contemporary slow court tennis is nothing like the classic clay court tennis played by players like Orantes, with precision, angles and a variety of spins and paces. The heavy topspin and the ability to arm the ball from awkward positions made possible by modern equipment has resulted in a style in which defence has overwhelmed offense generating contests more of endurance than skill.

Comments: I agree completely. Slowing down of tennis has also resulted in these monster Nadal-Djokovic finals where individual points never end -- on a hard court! Tennis needs to be saved!

Comments: Earlier it was-either you are a clay court specialist a grass court specialist, a hard court specialist or you are Roger Federer. Now to win all four Grand Slams you don't need to be half as versatile as Federer or Laver or the other greats. Now, you need to have only a baseline game which is slowly destroying the game thrill and popularity.

Comments: i agree, especially with slowing down of the game. life is too short to spend 5 - 6 hours watching unimaginative baseline bashers, moan and sigh hitting the same boring shots, over and over and over and over...

Comments: I agree completely. The more i see modern tennis the more i yearn for the days of Edberg, Mcenroe & other legends. Everything is well & good FOR NOW! But what happens when Federer retires...we will be left with only power baseliners and nothing else, forcing tournaments rely on top 4 platers to generate ticket sales. If there is more play style variety ala Sampras-Agassi, it will not only ensure the survival of the sport but generate genuine interest bringing people into tournaments...I hope i have been clear enough??!!!!!!

Comments: Slow courts and shrieking divas like Sharapova and Azarenka made tennis evolve backwards...I don't even put pulling pants off of buts in the same category, that is absolutely disgusting. It's time to change things back to where they used to be when champions were not OCD machines.
