Walmart is going to cut hours for their part-time workers to under 24 hours a week. This means these workers will not qualify for benefits through Walmart and in order to survive will have to or have already signed up for SNAP, Medicaid and other government programs. In addition they are demanding that all workers be available for any hours. This prevents their workers from taking on a second job, keeping them under paid for their needs. Putting this into effect will mean more people on programs that all of us pay for through taxes when they should be making enough money to survive on their own. Walmart should quit riding on the backs of the working class and higher in America by making sure they don't skip out on paying for benefits and those benefits should be reasonable, like affordable health insurance, vacations of at least 2 week a year and two personal time days a year along with sick leave.
