A Petition To Have Our Schedule/Instructor Remain the Same When we began this program in August of 2010 we were under the impression that it was a 24 month program and we would finish in the Summer Quarter of 2012. When MGTC changed from the quarter to semester system we were told that the AMT program would be extended for two months (for our class); therefore we would not complete the program until September 2012. We have recently been informed that our schedule will change, once again and the program (for our class) will be extended an additional two months. A 24 month program has turned into a 28 month program for our class. Our current schedule is 8am to 4 pm Monday through Thursday, the proposed change is 8am to 12pm Monday through Thursday. If this change is implemented it would extend our class by two months. Not only is our schedule supposed to change, but our instructor as well. This is change is being implemented to accommodate a part-time high school class of four students. This schools priorities should be to help the students complete the program and graduate, not continuously drag it out. Accommodations should be made for the graduating class of 16 students. We respectfully demand to remain in Professor Gerard’s class for the duration of our time in this program and that our class schedule remain the same.
