BEWARE<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

We have TROUBLE in our midst and it begins with a Capital I, ie "Investor Invasion” bearing what we believe to be preposterous re-zoning requests. A request to rezone existing farmland between Blendon Chase Retirement Community extending to Warner Road to accommodate 500 apartments plus a commercial strip. This proposal contains an 800 percent increase from the existing adopted 2002 Columbus City Council Northland Plan.  The 2002 plan essentially recommended residential, 3 houses per acre:  It is a reasonable and objective plan thoughtfully paid for by Columbus taxpayers without interference or lobbying by Investors and/or their attorneys.
The 2002 plan for our area was prepared by professional planning experts, without bias, and with the input from numerous stakeholders including civic leaders, property owners, representatives of the business community, public agencies and Northland Community Council.

We have the responsibility and opportunity to protect the integrity of this 2002 plan which was created on our behalf in an effort to build a better, sustainable environment and community.

To this end, it is critical that you present yourselves in person at the zoning request meeting now scheduled for hearing on Wednesday, August 22 at 7:00 P.M. in Minerva Park.

Regardless  if it is physically impossible for you to attend, or if you do plan to attend, you may sign the petition registering your objection to ANY rapacious re-zoning requests deviating from the 2002 adopted plan on remaining open land in our quadrant.

PETITION

As a citizen expecting sensibility and accountability in development and protection of the physical environment of remaining undeveloped land in our Northeast Northland quadrant, I strongly OBJECT to any re-zoning deviating from the existing 2002 adopted plan, especially as it pertains to the request to rezone existing farmland between Blendon Chase Retirement Community extending to Warner Road, that proposes to accommodate 500 apartments plus a commercial strip.   By signing this petition, I am formally recording my strong disagreement with this new rezoning.
