Indonesia is a muslim-majority country but Indonesia IS NOT islam country. There are at least five big religions in Indonesia: Christian (Protestantism & Roman Catholic), Buddhism, Hinduism and Confucianism. One of Indonesia’s violation of human rights is impose islam to non-muslim students in public schools.

Calling International support to STOP religious coercion in Indonesian public schools.

Islam in Government

Of course, government of Indonesia dominated by muslim, not only the people, but they also use Syariah Islam (islam rule) manifestations to make national regulations and imposes all Indonesian people with any religion to obey in the name of law.

Indonesian government has Religious Ministry. The department ONLY work for muslim. Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs gives all the conveniences for muslim people such as islam pilgrimage to Mecca, food legalization and entertainment product restriction. The department does not provide the needs of non-muslim people.

There also organization called Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). MUI is Indonesian muslims ‘sound of God’, funded by Indonesian government. MUI authorized islam rules to be adopted by Indonesian government and its people.

Indonesian government is under huge waves of islam influence pressure and has suppressed non-muslim people in Indonesia. Radical islam also take part in Indonesia which leads the country to even worse condition.

Islam in Indonesian Public Schools

Indonesian government (Ministry of Education and Culture) set islam theology as one of main subject in their education system, included the subject into their curriculum.

Non-muslim students are not allowed to leave the Islam Religious class.

Non-muslim students are forced to read and write arabic language and learn muslim’s prayers. They also forced to pray in islam way before and after class. When teacher ask students to go to mosque for islam prayers lesson, some non-muslim students were ignored but must stay in the class. Some other non-muslim students forced to be in mosque.

Students also must wear uniform in muslim fashion such as hijab (female) and kuko (male). In some public schools, non-muslim students also have to act like a muslim, otherwise they will be punished.

Indonesia forces minority group ‘to be muslim’ in public schools. There are private schools but it’s way too expensive for most Indonesian non-muslims.

These are true strory based on facts. Unfortunately, names and institutions related to evidences will remain hidden for security reason. Religious coercion activities happens in many place in Indonesia, mostly in Java, Papua and Sumatera and big cities.

Islam in Daily Life

Indonesian muslims uses loud speaker to pray night and day, but they forbid minorities to have any religious activities at home.

Indonesian muslims can have 3-5 mosques in one small area while they prohibit christians to build their church. Many christians have to rent a room in mall buildings to have a church. For those who doesn’t have money, they build a poor tent like in Papua or pray on the street like in North Sumatera.

In some places like Bogor and Bekase, some islam groups attacked other religion properties and sealed it.

Indonesian muslims have condemned Israel for ‘suppressed islam’, Palestine, while they impose the will of islam religion to non-muslim people.
