We, the undersigned, respectfully request the Flower Mound Town Council remove the proposal for a public restroom to be built at Rheudasil Park. The site where they are proposing the restroom build is a prime picnic and family area next to the children’s area, where neighborhood residents currently enjoy the park and the beauty it offers. The building will have a negative effect on property values in the surrounding areas, reduce sight lines to the pond from the street, and create an environmental impact to animals, particularly the many birds that nest in the park. There is no need for a public restroom and this will only have a negative effect on the surrounding areas, including: -Ruining of landscape beauty -Smell of sewage/restroom facilities -Obstruction of park area sight lines -Pollution to nature surrounding area -Destruction of a family picnic area -Negative effect on property values -Attraction of negative activities including destruction of public property, graffiti, etc. -The possible use of drugs, alcohol, public sex and other illegal activities inside the restrooms Further, no notification of change was posted at the park, nor were local HOA boards consulted nor were homeowners in the affected area asked about the suggested changes. Moreover, no request for an added facility was submitted through an HOA or submitted by a neighborhood group that uses the park. Help us keep our neighborhood park natural and beautiful by signing this petition.
