Pay gaps are absolutely still in existence in the United States. The Wage Project estimates that over a lifetime (47 years of full time work) the wage gap loss in wages for a woman is $1.2 million for a college graduate. This includes lower benefits and a lower retirement. Women are increasingly becoming the breadwinners in the households and the men are staying home with the children. If women are bringing home the paycheck and making less this could dramatically hurt families. Women are also having a difficult time paying their student loans back when they graduate because they are making less. Let’s stop the pay gap!!
