There are a lot of angry parents in the community in regards to the athletic department at Clark Pleasant Middle School and Whiteland Community High School. We feel parents of students SHOULD NOT be allowed to assist or coach for school sports. The child and the child's friends are favored and it's unfair to the other children. A lot of talented kids are sitting on bench or dropping out of the sport because of this. The athletic department has had numerous parents complain and nothing is being done and we as parents have had it!!!! The corporation excuse is that they can't find other assistants or coaches!!!! We as parents have checked at other corporations and they do not allow parents to assistant or coach school sports….so why does Whiteland allow it? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

None of these parents are creditable, respected or liked in community and are very bias to their children and their friend’s children starting when they shouldn't and they do not give others a chance. One of the parents is the son in law to a member of the school board and the other parents "sponsor" a lot of money towards the sporting equipment which gives the parent an automatic coaching or assistant position and guarantees their child a starting position on the team. This is why they get the positions. There are people out there who would take on these roles who are not affiliated to the kids at all. We don't know if back ground checks being done? We do know that one parent has been arrested few years back on theft charges. And another parent has had past drug issues and arrest and he also makes sexual comments to a lot of the team mothers. This has always been a problem and it has become worse the past couple of years and we as parents are tired of it. It's not fair. We are asking that you help us remove parents as coaches and assistants as we are sure there are others that could fulfill these positions. Very disappointed that Whiteland has let certain parents take over school sports!!!!! It's a disgrace to the community!!! We as parents beg for your help in this matter so that ALL kids are getting a fair chance!!!!
