We want the president of West Virginia University (WVU) to change the WVU Police Department to a private security force. Officers do not need a gun to issue underage drinking citations. These citations hurt student career prospects and the reputation of the school. There is no interest being addressed by having a permanent public record of these social norms when the alternative of handling these matters through the student conduct office is available.
