Name: Cris Field on Nov 18, 2006Comments: You're abusing these people by shuffling them around like this. They don't disappear just because you want them to. They go away when there are services provided for them., when the poor can afford a basic home, when the mentally ill get the support they need, when charitable services aren't suddenly illegal. You're putting lipstick on a pig. Orlando is the ugly pig when it criminalizes homelessness.Flag

Name: Steven White on Nov 19, 2006Comments: I suggest the City of Orlando read A Theory of Justice, by the late Harvard philosopher John Rawls, for an explanation of why helping the homeless should be a serious priority. Christian members should turn to the Gospels, in particular Luke.Flag

Name: Sandy Adams on Nov 22, 2006Comments: No doubt homelessness is a huge social problem. It was even addressed by Jesus Christ when He referred to them as "the poor". He did not only instructed us to help them, but He based the whole principle of religion (Christianity) on this issue. I'm appealing to all Christian people in Orlando, including some of you. I hope that when you sit down with your family and loved ones for the holidays, you'll stop and think about the greatest misfortune of all...homelessness. It is an evil that can touch every aspect of a human life. Please do what's right for these people. Let's find an effective solution instead of punishing these people any further. Then, you can attends your churches and celebrate your holidays knowing that your are not a fake!Flag
