To the Mayor, City Commissioners and Police Chief of the City of Orlando:
We, the undersigned, oppose the City of Orlando\'s forced eviction of homeless individuals living under the 408 overpass and the CSX railroad tracks near the 408;
We, the undersigned, oppose the illegal confiscation and destruction by City of Orlando employees of the personal property of homeless individuals living under the 408 and by the CSX railroad tracks;
We, the undersigned, call upon the City of Orlando to refrain from any further attempts to evict homeless individuals living in these areas until such time as the City through its own efforts or through working in partnership with other local governments and private groups shall have ensured that adequate resources for housing the homeless and providing them with other services are available to Orlando and Central Florida\'s homeless population, which numbers at least 7,000
individuals;
We, the undersigned, call upon the City of Orlando and other local governments to repeal any measures that criminalize homelessness, that hinder homeless individuals from engaging in life-sustaining activities, and that hinder the efforts of private groups to provide
assistance to the homeless.
I was looking at the screen and realized how far this has moved and honestly I am just kind of shocked because I thought maybe a few people would care but clearly I was wrong. It makes me feel like maybe they actually have to pay attention now although who knows with the city council but seeing this much energy behind us is truly wild and kind of overwhelming in the best way.

These people are human beings. Taking their stuff just makes life harder for people who already have nothing. Orlando needs to stop this now.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Those tents and blankets are all they have. Shame on the city for destroying a persons only possessions.

I see folks out there every day just trying to survive. Living in the streets is already a nightmare without the police making it worse.
