It has come to my attention that more and more non-english speaking nurses and and care home assistants are coming to the UK and working in the NHS without being able to speak english. This is not only dangerous by putting patients life's at risk but also morally wrong. Since the last goverment opened our borders to east europeans we have had to accept just about anyone from the european union who wants to come and work here, unfortunately since this has happened standards have dropped. We all know that we have a shortage of trained nurses and to its credit the last goverment had a policy of allowing Filipino nurses to come here and fill the gaps, all these nurses are highly qualified and speak english. They are liked by all patients becuase it is in there culture to care, unlike most europeans. I say let's stop accepting europeans if they are not prepared to learn english before they come here, and let's go back to allowing the better qualified Filipino nurses to start working here again by putting them back on the working visa list.
