"Want to know where your meat comes from? So do we." - New Seasons

Many shoppers know that New Seasons supplies chicken from Draper Valley Farms. But, what many don't realize is in 2013 Draper Valley was bought out by Perdue Chicken, the third largest chicken producer in the U.S.

When New Seasons claims "That's why all of our meat — beef, chicken, lamb, pork, turkey — comes from ranchers we know personally" it misleads consumers into thinking their dollars go to local small farms who raise meat ethically and responsibly. Despite the buyout out in 2013, New Seasons continues to source chicken from Draper Valley - funneling the dollars of conscientious consumers into factory farms.

CBS NEWS reports Perdue Farms "allow as little as one square foot per bird" with "no requirement for natural light or that the birds have access to the outdoors." Many of us are angered to know that money spent supposedly supporting local farmers, actually goes to support a giant corporation running factory farms. Please join us in urging New Seasons to stand behind their claim to support small farmers and cut ties with Perdue Chicken.
