We are a group of neighbors adjacent and surrounding Moreland Presbyterian Church.  Recently MPC has decided to host one homeless family at a time to sleep in their car inside the parking lot between 10pm to 7:30am.

MPC plans to provide a port-a-potty and a trash can.

MPC and their supporters argue that a similar program has been working in Eugene for several years.  They do not mention that not one of the Eugene parking spaces is in a residential setting.  They do not mention the number of calls to police.

MPC is ill-prepared and ill-equipped to participate in this activity in our residential neighborhood.

We believe the Moreland Presbyterian Church is taking advantage of their presence in our neighborhood.  Many of their supporters are out-of-neighborhood.  MPC is disregarding quality of life in our residential neighborhood.

We believe there are better ways for Moreland Presbyterian Church to help people who are experiencing homelessness.
