McGintys Ontario Government plan to cancel a program that directs a portion of revenues from the slot machines that are housed at the racetracks.This move  as a recent report has revealed will lead to 13,000+ horses to be euthanized.WHY? Without this program the industry will collapse which will not just mean lost jobs(60,000) as this will be far reaching-- but with racetracks more than likely forced to close and with a limited market for race horses 13,000+ horse will be sent to their deaths. This program has been hugely successful since its beginning in 1998 1.1 Billion dollars has been generated yearly by the slots that goes to the Province for Healthcare and Education.Where would this source of income come from when the program is cancelled??? Will the Tax payers have to pay for new facilities to house the slots that are doing just fine at the racetracks??? Please sign the petition and help SAVE THE HORSES!!!
