It is a cruel thing indeed to force a student to take gym, otherwise known as physical education, rather than pursuing there personal interests. Petition to make gym an elective for sixth graders and up so that, while those interested in the program may pursue it, pre-teens and teenagers will not be forced to pursue gym rather than more useful electives or electives that cater to there interests. Should a future musician be forced to take gym rather than theatre, NO! Should a future engineer be forced to take gym rather than robotics do to his few other interests filling up all available spots, NO! Stop mandatory gym class for sixth graders and up in Virginia.
