The Petition



We, the undersigned, call on Lulu super/hypermarkets to halt
their sale of sharks and shark products as a matter of urgency.  Sharks are increasingly threatened globally
and their sale (particularly that of juvenile sharks which are often seen on
Lulu fish counters) is wholly irresponsible and unsustainable.  Many species have experienced severe declines
in the last 30 years as fishing intensity has increased, with 70% reductions
commonplace and 90% declines in stock occurring for many species.  We call on Lulu to set a positive example and
bring the sale of sharks to an end.
