Name: Curtis Babakaiff on Nov 2, 2012Comments: I feel strongly that the proposed name "Little Saigon" does not adequately reflect the diversity & uniqueness of my neighborhood. Such a re-branding from City Hall is almost an embarrassing as trying to convince folk that Hastings-Sunrise is actually some sort of East Village.Address:Flag

Name: Aaron McHardy on Nov 3, 2012Comments: Little Saigon doesn't even come close to representing the neighborhood that I live in. Cedar Cottage is much better. Especially in a neighborhood that takes being a community so seriously. The sense of communityis the main reason I bought a house in this neighborhood, and now it's being branded as something it's not.Address: 942 E 21st Ave, Vancouver BCFlag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 3, 2012Comments: Kerry Jang, a City councillor, has it wrong. The residents of Kensington-Cedar cottage feel far from consulted; they feel like they're being treated worse than the dogs at an animal shelter. This has been disgraceful.Address: Yes, I do live in the neighbourhood.Flag

Name: Alain Grenier on Nov 3, 2012Comments: What's wrong with "Cedar Cottage" ? This designation is rich in historical context, is very inclusive of all the people living in our neighbourhood right now, and could actually be used as a great branding tool for our neighborhood in the future. We were taken aback when a ceremony for Little Saigon was celebrated a few months ago out on Kingsway, without any prior invitation sent to the neighbourhood - perhaps a reflection of the lack of sympathy of the Vietnamese merchants for their non Vietnamese customers (very sorry to say, but you cannot use the concept of inclusion to your advantage and then turn around and exclude others...)Address: 1057, East 21st AvenueFlag

Name: Jason COx on Nov 3, 2012Comments: I live a block from Cedar Cottage pub. Nothing about this area makes me feel like I am in Saigon. I have been to Saigon, and this isn't it. We have some wonderful Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Tung Hing is an awesome sandwich shop. But other than that it is some crummy cafe's that I have no idea how they stay in business. So please retain the name Cedar Cottage. It makes sense. Little Saigon just feels forced and dumb.Address: 1250 East 19th AveFlag
