Dear State and Federal Attorney Generals, Legislators, and the Federal Trade Commission: As the associations, owners, managers, and technicians of the collision repair industry in the United States, we demand that the torious interference actions of Property and Casualty Insurance Companies that have been repeatedly performed over the last 70 years needs to be vigorously investigated, and to the full extent of criminal and civil law be prosecuted, as well as future legislation enacted to prohibit such illegal activity to continue. Since the 1963 Consent Decree was enacted which clearly identified these actions as illegal tactics against our industry, and still to date is endangering the vehicle owners, there has been no enforcement. Today the actions of insurers are as aggressive as a modern day mafia, and their motives are designed for their own profits while policy holders are at risk, collision repairers are restricted from ordering their products from their existing vendors, and suppliers are being extorted to pay fees to just sell their products to their existing customers. These insurer mandated programs should not be allowed to continue, and the free market place without a 3rd party interference by property and casualty insurance companies be restored. We believe It is in the best interest of the vehicle owner to allow the collision repair professional to solely make the appropriate decisions for the repairs necessary, vendors to purchase from, and part types required to properly restore the vehicle back to pre-loss condition as humanly possible, and not an insurance company. I am signing this petition to demonstrate my affirmation of these needed actions.
