I SAW horses, ponies, and FOALS loaded into a semi trailer after a sale in Denver. My husband was with me and it made both of us just sick; they shoved them in until not another leg would fit and slammed the door. Of course, all done after 10 at night in the dark - have YOU ever seen a semi trailer full of equines traveling? After talking to the wives of truckers doing the hauling, we realized that when your horse, foal, pony, mini, mule, or donkey is taken to the sale barn, it's has a huge chance of being bought by the "Killer Buyer", and this is the result. The truckers' wives told me how awful it is at the other end, after days of traveling, often without being unloaded, fed, or watered. When about a mile from the processing plant, the horses smell death, blood, and fear and the terrified whinnying and stamping begins... The "kill floor" is a sight, sound, and smell from hell, and they know their buddies are being killed. These equines have been sent to hell, with all the terror and agony that means, beginning at the sale barn.....
