Leeds Metropolitan University invest their funds through banks that have the best credit rating without concerns for ethical standards. I want to show our university that as customers we do not want our money going towards funding unethical, unsustainable industry like the fossil fuel industry. As part of this we want the university to express its concern with its staffs pension provider over investing in companies such as Shell and BP. As a reputable, well-known organisation we feel our university should lead the way, and show they are no longer willing to, unquestionably, fuel unsustainable industries and consider investing in renewable energy sources that could help combat Climate Change and leave a better, cleaner world for generations to come.
