this bill, if not stopped, will be a precursor for others to follow which would embolden the government to meddle in the private affairs of OFWs and dictate other onerous provisions such as, for example, making us remit to certain banks only. we should make our sentiments known that hell, no - this won't pass!
My passport has NO connection to what I send to the Philippines. What I send or not is my freedom to choose. This freedom to choose IS in the constitution!
This is absurd, passport renewal will based on remittance? Come on stop this Bill, this may become a means of corruption in the DFA.
here and in the US, the government collects the child support from the father. this is clearly shows that even government pfficials don't trust their own countrymen that they wpuld resort to drastic forceful measures. I agree with the intention but i believe this isn't a well-thought of decision. Far too many loopholes and seemingly subjective for everyone's good.
This is a nonsense law and it only shows that Rep. Seneres is not concerned with the overseas Filipino workers like us are already remitting the earnings to our respective families. With this HB 3576 it is foul that we are deprived of renewing our passports because of non-remittance? What kind of logic do you have, Rep. Seneres? Please explain.
this is crazy. not for the good of families but only for the prying eyes of the government.

I feel that the point of this bill is to ensure those married folks actually support their family or parents need to support their kid. Honestly, I would agree to this if I'm an emotionally torn person.. Especially since the Father of my kid only helps when its convenient for him. Also, my father never helped us while growing up. But the logical part of me says, "NO that aint right.." Why would you hinder someone's employment due to family concerns? Sabi nga diba, wag mong dalhin ang family issues mo sa trabaho.. But this govt guy is taking it to the next level! Also, what if the one left in PH is the one cheating? Why the hell would you still support him or her? Or if parents just waste the OFWs money? Family Code/Personal Affairs should not violate Freedom Rights..
