Poaching is the illegal hunting, killing, or capturing of wild animals. Poachers kill elephants to sell their products. Poachers kill the elephant, and only take their tusks for ivory. Thisis resulting in rapid declines for many elephant species. For example, 23 metric tons of ivory- 2500 elephants- was seized in 2011. The media does not do anything about poaching.
