UC Berkeley wants to Occupy Albany's plot of land that is on the corner of Marin and San Pablo Avenue. They want to build a Whole Foods store and senior housing there. If this construction is approved, it will destroy the agroecology practice there. Personally, I APPOSE this construction plan because, first of all, cars would be able to come and go from the constructed part of land, that was before vacant, therefore, creating more pollution. Second of all, construction uses A LOT of natural resources. The more vacant spaces are being constructed on, the more the natural resources will start to disappear and become destroyed. And lastly, if another Whole Foods store will be built, more meat will be produced to server the stores purpose, therefore, more animals will have to be slaughtered. This goes for any store, not just Whole Foods. So I ask you, please sign this petition to STOP the construction plans on the vacant land on the corner of Marin and San Pablo Avenue!
