Charters schools in Chicago started opening their doors on August 1st to a new school year while the CTU has been holding Chicago families hostage with the threat of a strike. As of August 29th the CTU has issued a strike and will walk out of their classrooms as early as the second week CPS students begin the school year.  The CTU will be targeting on Charter Schools during this time frame.

I see no reason for CTU to defame and discredit the integrity of the Charter School network. Charters schools have nothing to do with the contract negotiations and the Chicago Public School Board.

Charter schools have performed at high levels to provide educational excellence in which have equaled successes.

 I am collecting signatures to inform the CTU that Charters Schools have made an extraordinary impact with the programs that have been implemented.  They have and continue to influence students by giving them the tools they need to succeed.

 Charter schools have changed the way education is perceived by many students, teachers and parents.  I am asking all alumni, current students, parents, teachers and others to please sign this petition urging the CTU to STOP targeting OUR schools.
